Point of Use Water Coolers
MSCA Series

Point of Use Model MSCA Water Coolers are designed to accommodate various types of filters. These coolers have a large removable front panel which allows access to the internal mounting area for filter installation. A screwdriver type latch provides security against tampering. Water supply to the Point-of-Use cooler is controlled by an electric solenoid valve, and a backup ball float is provided to assure shutoff of the water supply if the solenoid should fail.

Model MSCA supplies cold water only. Available in white, almond, and suntan.

Model MSCA-H (shown to the left) supplies both cold and hot water. Shown in white, the cooler is also available in almond and suntan.

Model MSCA-C supplies both cold and room temperature water. Available in white, almond, and suntan.

SPECIFICATIONS - Models MSCA, MSCA-H, MSCA-C

Cabinet Shell: Polyester coated galvanized steel side panels, and a vinyl coated steel front panel. Available in white, almond, or suntan. Screw holes are provided for mounting a cup dispenser. The lower front panel is removable by use of a screwdriver type latch.

Top and Drip Receptor: Injection molded from high impact, UV-protected polystyrene, color matched to the housing.

Frame: An inner frame, which provides added strength and support, is manufactured of heavy gauge galvanized steel. The frame also permits easy removal of side panels for maintenance and refurbishment. Behind the front panel, in the 18 1/2" x 10" x 10" (470mm x 254mm x 254mm) cavity, is a perforated mounting panel which accepts a wide variety of filter attachment screws.

Faucets: Self-closing, no-drip faucets are constructed of polypropylene.

Drip Receptor: Rugged molded high impact polystyrene, easily removed for cleaning.

Electrical: 115 Volts, 60 Hz. Compressor HP: 1/20 full load. Amps: 1.2 for MSCA and MSCA-C; 5.5 for MSCA-H. 3 Wire service cord and polarized plug furnished.

Water Supply: The water supply to the Point-of-Use cooler is controlled by an electrical solenoid valve which can be located either on the inlet to the filter or after the filter. As a safety feature, a ball float is provided at the point where the water enters the cooling tank. It will operate only if the solenoid valve fails to close. The inlet connection is 1/4" (6.35mm) OD tubing.

Cold Water Reservoir: Type 304 stainless steel. External copper refrigerant coil. Reservoir insulation is removable, two-piece polystyrene jacket.

Cold Water Thermostat: Temperature is controlled by an adjustable thermostat easily accessible on rear of cabinet.

Refrigeration Unit: Convection cooled condenser. Internally spring mounted, hermetically sealed compressor with automatic overload protector. No lubrication needed. Environmentally friendly R134a refrigerant is controlled by calibrated capillary tube.

Capacity: Cooler provides .4 G.P.H. (1.5 L.P.H.) of 50F (10C) water when room and water temperatures are 90F (30C).

Hot Tank (MSCA-H only): Type 304 stainless steel. 500 Watt externally mounted band type heating element can be easily removed without draining the water from the cooler. Storage capacity is 1 1/2 quarts (1.4 liters).

Hot Water Thermostat: Automatic thermostat factory set at approximately 180F - 190F (82C - 88C). Hot tank is protected by a heat limiter in the event of a thermostat failure. A hot tank on/off switch located on the shelf is easily accessible.

Net Weights (approx.): MSCA and MSCA-C: 48 lbs (21.8 kg); MSCA-H: 51 lbs (25.4 kg).
